Ode to the Charade: Zimbabwe

Posted by Ritch in Untagged

Ritch
A sham, bloody deception,
The bounding, white army chanted. Undemocratic, unparalleled injustice,
The tardy (nay, tacky), black army chorused.

Unrivalled travesty, perfect ambiguity,
The International community whimpered.

But the black man stood, ‘;unstung',
The virulent words falling on ‘barren' ears.

"Keep your noises to yourselves,"
He advised the white and black alike.

The bandying of coloured words ensued,
All parties pulling the frayed reins.

Just before the snap of the frayed joints,
The black man cleared his throat:

"If you deem yourselves clean enough,
Be the first one to throw the stone!"

The white and black armies exchanged glances,
And voluntarily retreated to their hovels.

and in their hovels they growled and stared
daring fate their hearts ensnared
bleating bleating went the media
of this tyrant who will riddya

On and on they tood and fro'ed
while zimbabwe in its hunger groaned
fields of verdant weed and thicket
and now bans from meets and cricket

on two shores the codgers wage
bob he shakes his fist with rage
and the manser rants and raves
like a master to his slaves

Jaduong, thanx for vibing on the same wavelength as I

Wewe Jaduong, your "continued" is very apt and you just took the words from my mouth (heart!). It's good. Keep up the good work. Robert Mugabe, I believe, would be amused to read our piece of work (for sure). Coz we echo his very words. So many people are calling for something to be done (and so many sanctions to be imposed on Zimbabwe) but no one wants to listen to the sacrificial "bull" (Bob himself). Maybe he just has a point. And a good one at that. Listen to him.

Hail to the Chief

The total, unquestioning and unconditional support for President Robert Mugabe(or is it Bob, now?) from some quarters is eye-watering and humbling to witness. World leaders all over would cherish dearly such loyal admiration. Devotion is alive and well in a global sea of cynicism.

I make a most humble plea that we address the following points quickly for the benefit of the few remaining skeptics out there so that they too may join in our cheering rapture:

*Did Zimbabwe really need a sixth Mugabe presidency?

*Did Mr Mugabe need a sixth term of office....'at all costs'? Why?

Why did Mr Mugabe refuse to accept the will of the people of Zimbabwe saying that 'Only God' can remove him from power?

The time is long overdue when people will be free to voice their opposition to this Zimbabwe regime without the endless, pointless and unhelpful references to foreign puppets, British masters, white settlers, slaves etc etc that characterise and deliberately derailed this debate.
